Our values
We believe that the dissemination of knowledge should not be hindered by language barriers or disabilities, whether physical, mental or social.
Our aim is to overcome these barriers and promote access to free culture, ideas and science, regardless of age, disability, standard of living or language.
Our project
Even today, too much audiovisual content, whether produced by public or private bodies, remains inaccessible to certain audiences. There are still too many inequalities when it comes to accessing and using digital technology.
Our main mission is to promote digital accessibility, the sharing of knowledge with as many people as possible and the dissemination of free-culture.
Focusing our work on digital accessibility means that we can reach a wide audience, including people with disabilities, the elderly, people living in rural areas and anyone who encounters barriers to using information and communication technologies.
Our commitment to the Collectif Alirebleco is part of an inclusive and global vision of the dissemination of knowledge. Over and above the challenges of accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing, and the language barrier, we recognise that it is vital to combat the digital divide that persists in our society. Too many people remain excluded from the digital world because of social or economic constraints, and this disparity is growing every day.
With this in mind, it is essential to ensure not only accessibility to content, but also access to the digital tools needed to consult it. IT equipment is an essential gateway to knowledge, and its accessibility must not be neglected in our mission to disseminate knowledge.
The team
The collectif Alirebleco team consists of volunteers with diverse backgrounds but driven by the same thirst for learning and sharing. United since the early 2020s, these volunteers have navigated between the academic world and free culture for over a decade.
The collectif Alirebleco warmly welcomes those who share its values: selfless sharing, the defense of science, and empowerment through access to knowledge.
The collectif Alirebleco is committed to Open Science and seeks to promote:
- sharing the results of scientific research with the widest audience
- free access to research data
- the use of collaborative tools and open-source software
- collaboration between sciences and multidisciplinarity
For an exploration of free and accessible culture
Age, disability, income level, or language should no longer be barriers to the dissemination of free-culture movement, ideas, and science.
The collectif Alirebleco implements two concrete actions that promote digital accessibility. At its scale, the collective also contributes to the dissemination of free-culture movement.
Cultural broadcasting platform
At the core of our commitment to digital accessibility and the promotion of free culture, we have created an online platform dedicated to the broadcasting of copyright-free cultural content. Engaging films, inspiring documentaries, and stimulating conferences, carefully translated and subtitled, are made available to you. Our mission is to transcend language barriers and obstacles related to disability so that everyone can access the richness of culture, regardless of their origin or abilities.
Reconditioning of computer equipment
To combat hardware obsolescence and reduce the digital divide locally, we actively engage in reconditioning aging computer equipment. By offering equipment at symbolic prices, we aim to make technology accessible to all. Each refurbished computer contributes to extending the useful life of equipment while providing affordable solutions to those who need them the most.
Free-culture relay
As ardent advocates of free culture, we play an active role in disseminating its news. Through our social networks, we share news, events, and initiatives that promote knowledge sharing and free culture. Join us in our mission to spread these ideas and build a world where culture is accessible to all.
Our functioning
The collectif Alirebleco takes place within the framework of the social and solidarity economy.
