Who are we?
The Collectif Alirebleco is a French association under the law of 1901, created in March 2023. It grew out of an awareness of the barriers to access to culture and knowledge that persist despite the democratisation of the internet.
The emergence of the Internet has made it possible to disseminate knowledge further than ever before. The Internet has reduced distances and facilitated the exchange of information more than ever before. Undoubtedly, the scale of the Internet is international, and audiovisual productions represent the majority of shared content.
However, language and disability still represent two obstacles to overcome...
While nearly 10 % of the French population is affected by hearing impairment, a significant portion of audiovisual content remains inaccessible to the deaf and hard of hearing.
While the Internet enables us to exchange information with the whole world, access to knowledge is still conditional on mastery of one language or another.
The dissemination of knowledge worldwide should not be hindered by disability or language barriers. We have chosen to act together in favor of accessibility to knowledge and the sharing of ideas on an international scale.
Our goals and objectives
We believe that the dissemination of knowledge should not be hindered by language barriers or disabilities, whether physical, mental or social.
Our aim is to overcome these barriers and promote access to free culture, ideas and science, regardless of age, disability, standard of living or language.
